Hi, we were in Alaska last september, it was not cold but it rained for four out of seven days, but that can be expected and did not spoil what was the best Cruise we have done - take a mixture of clothing plus a good waterproof jacket and you should be alright. the scenery is spectacular and always be on the watch for whales, enjoy your cruise .
The weather in South Alaska is very similar to that of the UK and should not be cold in September. If you venture into the interior or to the North it can be a different story. It can change quite rapidly so prepare for anything. Many of the pictures you see are in the Winter just because it is much more photogenic.
Thank you. Looking forward to our cruise.
We are also doing this cruise have found out any other information on any of the excursions that you can do at any of the ports.
We booked all our excursions through Royal Caribbean on line before we sailed and enjoyed every one of them with the exception of the Native Village Tour in Ketchikan. We found that one a little disappointing. The one we really enjoyed was the Whale watiching with lunch at the Ocra Point Lodge. That was great and we saw lots of whales and lunch was fabulous. We also enjoyed the tour up onto the Yukon by coach, returning on the train through the White Pass that was worth doing at Skagway. (Thme weather was sgreat as well) JT.
