Neil and Ida Down - Answered a Question by tanner (24 Jul 08 14:49)

You don't say whether you are male or female but as a good rule of thumb it is best if you have a concealed wallet about your person rather than in a bag or back pocket. Avoid bum bags, as we call them or fanny packs as the Americans say, because they are so easily looted, cut or undone. The same with larger bags that will not go easily under your arm. The use of Stanley knives and blades on the bottom of bags is prevalent particularly in Italy. So the smaller and least significant the better. Having said all that as long as you are "street-wise" and conscious of what might happen the less the chance of anything bad happening. I don't want to push my luck too much but I haven't "lost" anything yet but I have friends who have. Hope that helps .... Neil.
