Nearly all ships have their own newspapers with upto the minute news. Not in full detail but scaled down in every nationality. As we live in a very tecnological age the news is always available even online on board ships.
Some port will stock the English papers but its normally available quite later than over here we got one in Madera at about 1pm and TOTE book makers have an international dialing number and other bookies may have the same, you can use the Internet to place bets providing you have an account,So yes difficult and expensive but it is possible?
Don't know about the betting bit of your question but regarding newspapers...the ship do put a basic daily news sheet on the noticeboard by reception...and British newspapers are available in most mediterranean ports of call but they cost more (around 2 euros) and sometimes are 'yesterdays news' so remember to check what day it is!!!!
Many ships produce a newspaper with the daily news from Britain or America or wherever. You can normally collect your own copy from around the reception area. As for placing a bet, well, you see what the others say but I would suggest that if you can't do without it just go to the casino and lose your money in comfort. Dear, dear, dear I've heard it all now. ..Nei.
Well said Neil. We've been asked some strange questions but this beats the lot!
In reply to my guestion about betting we already bet on line, it was only a tongue in cheek question, Please dont take life too serious.
