Find Your Cruise
We cruised on Melody in July and had a wonderful time. We read negative reviews prior to the cruise and were pleased they were unfounded. Relax and enjoy.
Ask any Taxi Driver - they will know where each Ship is on any particular day. As for Formal nights, unfortunately not everyone dresses up but at the least smart casual will do on this cruise line (you get the usual mix of some do some dont dress up). Other Tips: (I have cruised Musica but not Melody so assume similarities) 1, Tea, Coffee Juice, Water in the buffett area is only freely available at set meal times and is only dispensed via a wait service - you cannot go up and refil your cup/glass yourself. At other times you have to pay for Tea/coffee. 2. They will try to ply you with bottle water at meal times in the main restuarant- do not be afraid to ask for a jug of iced water foc. You can buy a book of soft drink or beer tickets which amounts to something like pay for 10 get 12. 3. In the evening the buffett area becomes a chargable bistro so if your child wants alternative evening dining other than the main restarant with yoursleves then there isnt one. 4. My then 11 year old son did not like the look of the kids club and other parents reported that they had taken their children out as the other kids seemed unruly and not well supervised. 5. Be prepared for a lot of pushing a shoving - other europeans do not know what an orderly queue is. 6. If you have booked a full package with flights and transfers then all I can say is goodluck! In no way do I mean to put you off, I am just telling you how it was that we found it. It did not stop us from having a good time and at the end of the day it was good value for money (you get what you pay for). PS: Read the review on this site made by Wilba about Musica which gives a good idea of what you are in for.
