Not on the cruise ship the bulk of passengers in European;Caribbean; West coast USA cruises speak english. It is sad to say some of us with no other language do get away with murder.

SOUTHERN - Answered a Question by Harris (29 Jul 08 17:41)

English is widely spoken everywhere just been on the Baltic Cruise and the only guide who had very minor problems was in St Petersburg but its Russia, I think its very difficult to learn English from Russian and vice versa, I could understand him in any case and he was a character!!! so well done him! All staff on the cruises are not British but most do speak excellent English.
