Find Your Cruise
I am not 100% sure, but I think this could well be to do with crew fire drills, etc. The crew must obviously train for emergencies, and they often do this while the ship is in port. You will often see them launching lifeboats as practice also. The "priority" would be to do with what type of emergency it was. It might not have been a drill at all of course! I am sure that someone will know the exact answer to your question. Happy cruising.
Some of us might know what these codes are, and there are lots of them, just rest assured that you are better off not knowing, don't worry about it, if there is ever a real emergency that affects you the drill swings into place like clockwork. Just enjoy your cruise. ... Neil.
This is not an answer, just a question to 'Smart', Bedlington. Did you enjoy the trip.
My wife and I had booked but had to cancel for family health reasons. we were looking forward to Iceland etc., and would be interested to know how you got on.
Yes, we enjoyed the trip to Iceland even better than we thought we would. We had chosen a cruise because the only fly holidays were of 2 days duration with only 1 night in a Reykavik hotel and we wanted to see more of Iceland once we were there. The cruise called at Reykavik and Isafjordur and Akureyri and we did Cunard shore excursions at Reykavik and Akureyri and own own thing (walked around the town) at Isafjordur. Reykavik was the most disappointing, Isafjordur and Akureyri were more picturesque, therefore confirming our holiday choice to see more than Reykavik was correct. We met a couple on the cruise that had obtained a last minute cancellation, maybe it was yours, as the ship sailed full.
Ideally I would have liked a cruise to Greenland and Iceland and some cruise lines do this, but on smaller ships. My wife is not a good sailer and so we keep to the larger ships. Perhaps such a cruise would suit you. I think these cruises are operated by Thomson, Travelshere, Page and Moy from Tilbury, Dover and Harwich.
Many thanks for your reply.
We are looking at similar cruises on either QV or QM2 next year, having arranged a Med cruise on QV in late Nov this year, to replace the missed trip on QE2.
Your comments will help our decision making for next year. Thanks again.
I think it may have been a request for the ship's doctor to visit the cabin mentioned. I believe priority 1 is the most urgent of requests.
