We went through on the Infinity which at that time was one of the largest crusie ships going throug. Dont worry you wont get stuck!!! the ships are pulled through by the Mules. It a truly exciting esperience, so get up early and enjoy it all. One point to be aware of if ou wont to be upfornt to see it all, get there early as tthese Americasn just get there too early book all the chairs and it does spoil it as they stay there and go for food in shifts. Just like the germans and the towels!!
On of the exciting parts of this journey is going under trans american highway bridge at the pacific side. just duck!
Regulation is there must be 18"(450mm) each sid.
Taylor is correct it is pretty close on both sides but nothing these fine Captains and crew cannot handle with the assistance of Mules these are a form of train that with metal cables guide the ships through. Any cruise on the Panama Canal is a wonderful experience.
The extreme breadth of the QV is 32.25 mtrs. (Lloyds Data) The width of the canal is 33mtrs.......No worries!
