With the state of the economy getting worse I would not book a cruise 12 months in advance. OK for Aldrich to quote PSA results for 2006, this is now 2008. Aldrich, your replies to many questions including the type and filling of mattress/beds is very impressive. Are you just an ordinary cruiser or do you work for .. say .. cruise.co.
Europe is the largest growing cruise market - More Brits then ever are taking to the seas, according to the Passenger Shipping Association (PSA), who announced today that 1.2 million Brits took an ocean cruise in 2006 - 12% more than the 1.07 million who cruised in 2005 and double the number who took cruise holidays just a decade ago. The UK cruise market showed the biggest growth rate of all European source market countries and, with the British taking longer cruises than in 2005, there was an impressive 19% increase in the overall number of cruise nights booked.
On your Solstice cruise several categories are already sold out. I would not worry about it!
I agree they plan so far ahead and it would not be feasible to reroute and arrange staffing and supplies, the US economy may well suffer more than ours and it is thought that the bargains will be on the Caribbean routes rather than this side of the pond ,we have booked Solstice for Nov. 2009 and i am sure we will sailing and having a great cruise ,don't worry.
