Costa cruise (very Italian loud and fun), Princess cruise(reserved fun), Aida cruise (very German) and the classic godmother Queen Elizabeth 2 (very English superlative clasic) speak to your travel agent, they should help you with the specials..bon voyage MPJ.
Try for cruises starting from Barcelona where a lot of good cruises for the Med start from with a number of different companies. Royal Carribean is great value with lots to do, great atmosphere, very friendly, lots of fun.
Royal Caribbean do the Med at that time and are v good. I think Ocean Village do too but althought I've never been with them have been in the same ports a couple of times and they are full of children....a definite no no!
I would always book via one of the cruise specialists you can find on the net because they give good discounts...never go by the brochure price!
Well the problem with crusing these days, is that there is always someone who pays less. And by paying less it does attract the bottom end of the market! To answer your question, if you think it's a good cruise, and you can afford the money - go for it. Mike .
Celebrity X Cruises is the best for a single pssenger. they have th ebest food found from any of the other big cruise lines. the ambiance is relaxing and you they are the only cruise line to do little touches like on sea days cold towels and drinks when sun - bathing. the kids are kept quiet and this is the most sophistiacted, bu fun - lots to do cruising you will find.
Problem you have that most ships don't have single cabins and those who do usually get booked early. So getting a bargain will be difficult because you will have a heavty single room supplement.Could work out cheaper to get a friend to go with you.
I went on my first cruise 2 years ago (on my own) to the Carribean. I was a bit wary, but I had a wonderful time. The first day we had a welcome meeting for singles to which only a handful attended. Probably didn't want to appear "sad". This is a great way to meet other people on board who are on their own too. I found that women on their own are more socialable and make friends easier and the single men tended to keep their own company. I met 3 great women and we are still friends now. We met in the mornings for shopping and sightseeing and then did our own thing in the afternoon. Them being into booze cruising and relaxing and me into scuba diving and all the energetic fun stuff. We met again in the evening for dinner and it was good to have someone to sit with in the night club. Got the best of both worlds as I could be on my own if I wanted and seek them out if I needed some company. Been on 2 more cruises since then with friends or family, but that first one on my own was the best (think I'll do it again this Winter. Hope you have a great time - just be friendly and open to chatting with people and you'll love it wherever you go. You will get a good deal if you wait until the last minute.
If you look under Fred Olsen you will see what I wrote about the Black Prince and my first cruise on my own. Have a good time which ever you choose.
I have been on six cruises five in the med,I have travelled with my family and lately just with my mum.I would not hesitate to travel alone in fact I have met lots of folk who have done that.I would suggest Island Escape get yourself an outside cabin or balcony if your buget allows you will not be disapointe.
I would recommend Ocean Village (second cruise to Med)went June 07, 1 week, very informal, excellent entertainment, everyone friendly and lively. Went on tours to Rome, Milan,Barcelona, St.Raphael (beautiful place) waiting also to see what prices are in September would now like to go on Greek Islands cruise for 1 week. Been on other cruise ships but always go back to Ocean Village.
