Find Your Cruise
Avoid the older ships, keep as central as you can and not book the decks under the pool deck or the dance floors. Refits have very little to do with the noise and vibration unless it's to have it's bearings renewed. Avoid Oriana and Galaxy they both vibrate a lot I've seen crockery move across the table on Oriana
In our experience the vibration is felt most at the rear of the ship so we always choose a cabin just forward of midships (less movement in the middle!) and as high up as you can afford...Not all the ships are modern but that doesn't mean they are no good....we went on Emerald a couple of years ago which is about 40 years old and although she was a bit dated in style, she was very comfortable and our cabin was very spacious. We have also been on Costa Serena which is a year old and found the style garish and brash (although our cabin was comfortable and spacious)....modern is not necessarily the sign of a good cruise ship we've found!!!
It depends how much cash you have got to spend go over the top or basic its your chouic.
