I have allways done may earliest in may we done was 15/5sea not to bad just depennds you can get wrist bands or over counter sickness traveleeze soft chewy pastilles you can use them for all travel journeys you can get these out lloyds the chemist hope ive been of some help you will enjoy your cruise with island we have done them 5times.
We did it in May last year & had the same worries about seasickness.... it was fine hardly tell its moving...took all the wristbands tablets etc but only ever took a tablet as a 'precaution' ..the best thing to take is ginger biscuits or anything with ginger in it...its sounds daft but take a packet with yo.
