Thomson cruises do not have any gratuities charged to your account and in fact say that is included in the price. I, like you, would prefer to tip personally individuals who have offered an excellent service. Most cruise ships do have this automatic tipping charged to onboard accounts but I believe you can opt out of this and tip as and when you lik.

Princess allow you to opt out of tipping but Costa have 'compulsory' tipping of varying amounts depending how long the cruise is and whether it is med or Caribbean! We like the Thomson way ..included and then we give extra if we feel it is deserved.

First time cruiser just back from carribean with carnival. had to pay over 1000dollers pre paid gratuities and tips on every drink purchased and the waiters at dinning still expected to appreciated. acctually spent more on gratuities than we did on the entire time on the cruise . i think tipping should be left to the individual so will seek a cruise with that in mind next tim.
