The best are Hapag Lloyd, Seadream, Silversea and Seabourn. They are also the most expensive. But is that what you want to know? For us to give you an answer suited to you we need to know what you like, where you would like to go, what you expect and a whole heap more and then we might conclude that your best cruise is on OV1 or Thomson Destiny....who knows?....regards Neil
Cruising is a such a case of personal choice- basically there is something for everyone and on this site there are some really helpful cruisers (well some exceptions)who will be happy to give you factual useful advice so if you post your question again with some more detail about what you had in mind, I am sure you will get plenty of good advice- but remember- cruising is addictive! once you start..... Hope you find out the info you need to choose the best cruise for yo.
It all depends on what you want, where you want to go, at what time of year and possibly who you are with.
I'm looking forward to my second cruise on Royal Caribbean. Some people don't like them. Personally I wouldn't fancy doing a Thomson cruise, others swear by them.
When you do decide to book, make sure you have done your homework as I was nearly caught out with a booking I made for Eurodam on Holland America for this October. The ship had been chartered by aquafestcruises.com I nearly lost all my money but even then it would have been worth losing!!
I agree with one of your answers you will become addicted to cruises whichever company you choose. We started with Ocean Village in the Med 4 years ago and are so addicted we did 3 cruises kast year but we're now devout Royal Caribbean fans. For mainstream cruises they are great but from what I've heard on par with Princess, P & O, Carnival to name a few so shop around and find a 7 night cruise for starters somewhere or some time when its hot so you can enjoy the whole ship.
