I travel with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines (RCCL), and Celebrity Cruise Lines. The card you are refering to is for $5.00 for each day of the cruise and must be purchased for the entire cruise. You are issued a special insulated soft drink beverage cup and a sticker for your cruise card. You can get a soft drink anytime you want at any location that has soft drinks (each restaurant, and bar, or from a waiter) and any soft drink of your choice. If you wish to not have it, the drinks are $2.00 each and you are given a a can or bottle of your choice. I have a Martini, and there is no soda in it so I do not even have one during the day.
Yes its called a soda card, a daily amount is added to your onboard account and when you order a soft drink in the public bars show the card and its free. this does not work for room service in the cabi.
Yes you can and it covers all the main brands.
Yes you can , you need to ask the barman for the soft drinks passage, he will put a yellow soft drinks package litle round sticker on the back of your cruise card, He will give you a slip to sign for the payment of the soft drinks passage and you just show your cruise card every time you order a soft drink. it works wonders, I thoroughly recommend it as I, like you dont drink much alcohol due to the nature of my work and I find the soft drinks package on QE2 very helpful and beneficial , I just hope they have such a scheme on the Queen Victoria, if they dont I shall be most disappointed.
Hi, that is correct, like yourself not a big lover of alcohol and have used this card on to previous cruise's very good value, you register on your first day on board.
I too do not drink much alcohol. It is great - you just pay up front for your card for a nominal amount and you can the order soft drinks as often as you like. Super valu.
On her Christmas cruise they had the package available to buy for the first two days only. But beware!! All drinks come by the glass, so if you buy a diet coke, you will get half a glass of ice and only as much coke out of the can that the glass can hold. Therefore, you will often be served with the remainder of somebody elses coke which can be flat. ALWYAS ASK FOR A FRESH CAN TO BE OPENED!! Only one drink per card at any time and if you do not intend to spend $4 dollars a day on soft drinks it does not pay to take this package. Water in the cabin is also not allowed. Try and buy a small bottle of water on board.... I dare you... I never found one in the shop. Read the information leaflet carefully before taking up this package is my advice.
Yes, not only Cunard but quite a lot of cruise lines do the same. Certainly Princess & P&.
If you go to the Lido you can also get Free Tea,Coffe and Soft Drinks there.
I thought it good value, especially in the main dining room as I received fresh orange juice, not concentrate. That said, you will need to have at least three soft drinks each day to break even, but, if like me you don't take a lot of alcohol, then the drinks package on QE2 was worth it. Another thing to bear in mind is the non-alcoholic cocktails, I thought they were good value.
